OUR CURRICULUM
Yoga Technique, Training & Practice [90 hours]
We learn by doing, as yoga is not something that can just be read and then taught. Every morning will include a morning practice of 90 minutes, incorporating asana, pranayama and meditation. Hatha Yoga offers an opportunity to explore each pose in great depth and create a solid foundation for practicing and teaching yoga safely and appropriately. Flow Yoga allows you to connect breath and movement, and become creative and intentional in your practice and sequencing.
Anatomy & Physiology [30 hours]
Discover the human body through the lens of the West and the East. We will explore key body systems - such as the musculoskeletal system, the nervous system and respiratory system - through an interactive and embodied approach, appreciating the integral approach that we move and breathe as a unified being, and not as a machine.
Yoga History & Philosophy [30 hours]
Become immersed in the rich history of yoga, and understand how this very ancient practice that has its origins in the far east has evolved and found its way to the West. You will learn how to interweave philosophical concepts into yoga classes, and develop an appreciation for the intuitive wisdom that has been passed done for thousands of years.
Teaching Methodology [20 hours]
Our teaching methodology is unique in that it demonstrates respect for the traditions of yoga, whilst appreciating that we are living in the 21st century. You will be able to confidently teach and share yoga with others, alongside understanding key benefits and contraindications of each element of a yoga class. You will be able to utilise trauma-informed principles to create accessible, intentional and transformational yoga classes.
Practicum [30 hours]
Within the first few days of the training you will step into the seat of the teacher, building your confidence and authentic voice. Various assignments and group activities will help you to consolidate what you are learning and also cultivate more passion and curiosity for yoga. By the end of the training you will be able to teach one hour yoga classes, incorporating asana, pranayama and meditation, with a profound understanding of the anatomy and philosophy of yoga.

15:00-16:00 | Teaching Methodology
We teach you how to teach. Here we bring the ancient practice of yoga into the modern world, by appreciating that everyone moves and breathes in their own unique way. We remove dogma, and focus on creating an inviting, explorative and open dialogue between teacher and student. It’s not about memorising a script of instructions, but rather being able to teach yoga based on who your students are in that moment.
16:00-17:30 | History & Philosophy of Yoga
Become immersed in the rich history of yoga, and understand how this very ancient practice that has its origins in the far east has evolved and found its way to the West. You will learn how to interweave philosophical concepts into yoga classes, and develop an appreciation for the intuitive wisdom that has been passed done for thousands of years.
17:30-18:30 | Afternoon Yoga Class
Slow down and consolidate what you have learnt throughout the day with a slow-paced, restorative and mindful yoga class. Feel revitalised and well-rested as we head into the evening.
18:30-19:30 | Dinner
Our family-style meals invite an opportunity for reflection, connection and nourishment. You can expect hearty soups, warming stews and wholesome accompaniments. No meal is the same throughout the training, and many students request recipes and leave our training motivated to spend more time in the kitchen!
19:30-20:00 | Fireside Chat / Self-Study / Free time
Some evenings will involve a fireside chat, which is an opportunity to reflect on the topics covered that day, or to have an open discussion around yoga. We will also have movie nights, yoga nidra sessions, and even a games night. Other evenings will have no planned activities, allowing for some free time or self-study.
“I took this training to have the trauma-informed skills to bring this practice to my community of people.”
