Certified yoga therapist,

Experienced yoga teacher and trainer,

dedicated practitioner since 2006.

Educating the next generation of yoga teachers and yoga therapists through teacher trainings, retreats and specialised workshops. My mission is to inspire people about the incredible potential of the mind and body to help you lead a connected and compassionate life - on and off the yoga mat.

Background

When I first stepped onto a yoga mat in 2006, it was to help with recurring feelings of stress and anxiety. I had always felt insecure within my own body, and I found yoga to be a practice where I felt safe, strong and content with myself and the ever-changing world around me.

In 2014, I was diagnosed with early heart failure. I had two open-heart surgeries in a week. Following my surgeries, no physical rehabilitation or psychological support was offered as doctors believed being a “young, fit woman in her twenties” was enough reasoning. Unfortunately they were wrong, and this led to debilitating health anxiety, chronic pain and a hypersensitive nervous system.

Despite these setbacks, I went back to my yoga mat, adapting my practice to be considerate of my circumstances. I set about creating an intuitive and compassionate way of living. Ten months after those surgeries, I crossed the finish line of my first triathlon, and soon after I completed my 500hr Yoga Teacher Training in Purna Yoga under the guidance of John Ogilvie at Byron Yoga Centre in Australia.

When my father passed away unexpectedly in 2018, I used yoga as a spiritual guidance and personal therapy to process my grief. I found in it, a way of life that supported my quest to find balance and feel at peace. For me, yoga had become so much more than stretching and breathwork, it was an essential tool to help navigate the challenges I faced in my life.

I had already adopted a Body-Mind approach and Bio-Psycho-Social approach with many of my private students, and saw the profound impact it was having on their health and well-being, so I decided to cement my own learnings and experience by becoming a C-IAYT Yoga Therapist at The Yoga Therapy Institute in Amsterdam.

I now have the privilege to share my knowledge and experience with the next generation of yoga teachers and therapists, by providing 200hr YTTs and specialised courses that seamlessly integrates ancient wisdom with contemporary science.

Approach to Yoga

Safety, simplicity and intuition are key principles in my work. Realizing that everyone has a different life story that has shaped who they are - physically, mentally and emotionally - allows my students and clients to feel embraced, understood and respected. I infuse playfulness, curiosity, passion and reflection into all my sessions - whether it’s with a private client, in a retreat setting, or during a teacher training.

I continue to study and evolve through continuous training with senior teachers around the world. I have had the privilege of learning from some highly respected experts in the field of yoga and integral anatomy, including Judith Hanson Lasater PhD, Gil Hedley PhD, and Dr Rose Erin Vaughan DAc. I am always focused on developing a deeper insight into promoting traditional teachings in a modern and accessible manner.

I’m registered with Yoga Alliance as an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher and Continuing Education Provider, and with the International Association of Yoga Therapists as a Certified Yoga Therapist.
